John Franzmann, 85, passed away on October 11, 2014, in Stillwater. He was born on December 21, 1928, in New Canaan, CT. In 1952, he married Florence Hendrickson in New York; and she predeceased him in April, 1992. In 1997, he married Sondra Lyhene in Stillwater. He graduated from high school in Connecticut, following which he attended the University of Connecticut where he received the bachelor’s and master’s degrees. He subsequently received the Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics from OSU. Prior to joining the OSU Ag Econ Department, John was employed by the USDA and the Tennessee Valley Authority. He also served a tour of duty in Korea as a 2nd Lieutenant in the US Army Signal Corps. John was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, as well as a life member of the OSU Alumni Association, and the OSU Emeriti Association. He is survived by his wife, four children, and four grandchildren.
