Gerald Stotts

Gerald Stotts, 83, passed away on January 19, 2014. He was born May 13, 1930. Gerald served in the Army during the Korean War and was later discharged after he was wounded. He had shrapnel removed from his head at a M.A.S.H. unit. Gerald received the Purple Heart as a result of his injuries. Related to his injuries, in 1972, he participated in a study at M.I.T. in which data were collected to provide improved early care and prognosis of long-term effect and rehabbing of individuals with head injuries. Following his discharge from the U.S. Army, he enrolled at Oklahoma State University where he received a degree in engineering technology. In August, 1955, he married Nevalyn Freese. Gerald worked for OSU in the Department of Electrical Engineering for 35 years as the laboratory manager. Gerald’s interests included fishing and designing quilt patterns and frames for his wife. He is survived by his wife, two daughters, and a grandson.
