Doris Scott, 91, was born in Palestine, TX, on August 20, 1926, to Martin and Jane Jones, and she passed away in Stillwater, OK, on December 7, 2017. She and Walter Scott met when they were students at Baylor University, and they were married for 67 years. She graduated from Baylor in 1949 with a degree in Spanish. Doris and Walter are the parents of two daughters, Lori (Glenn) Robertson and Gaye Lynn Scott. She worked as a church secretary during the time that Walter completed the requirements for his doctorate at The Johns Hopkins University, as well as on Sunday mornings at the First Baptist Church in Stillwater. Doris was the unofficial historian for First Baptist Church. Doing genealogy work was a passion of hers. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Daughters of the Republic of Texas, and the United Daughters of the Confederacy. She is survived by her husband, Walter, her two daughters, Lori and Gaye Lynn, son-in-law Glenn Robertson, and grandson Joel Robertson.
