John Hirschlein

John A. Hirschlein, 87, was born on May 31, 1931 in Mount Holly, NJ, to Henry and Helen Hirschlein, and passed away on June 27, 2018. Following high school graduation from Mount Holly High School, he joined the United States Air Force in which he served from 1951-1955, stationed and Greenland and Tucson, AZ. While stationed in Tucson, he met and married Beulah Luker. They later moved to Stillwater, OK, to attend Oklahoma Agricultural and Mechanical College. John earned the B.A. degree in psychology from OAMC and a combined M.A. and Ph.D. in psychology from the University of Oklahoma. John taught in OU’s Psychology Department for one year. At OU’s Medical School, he was involved in research to develop drugs to help alleviate the symptoms of schizophrenia. John was preceded in death by his wife, Beulah, his parents, four brothers, Henry, Jr., Ronald, Richard, and Thomas. His is survived by his sister, Alice, as well as by many relatives.
