James Jackson

James Forbes Stuart Jackson, Jr., 86, passed away in Stillwater, OK, on November 30, 2018. He was born in San Antonio, TX, on November 29, 1932, to James Forbes Stuart and Virginia Ann Jackson. He attended Martin High School in Laredo, TX; and following graduation, he attended the University of Texas, Austin, from 1951-1955. James was in the Army ROTC program, and he graduated as a 2nd Lieutenant, being called to active service from 1955-1957. His assignments included the U.S. Army Transportation Corps, and the Trans-Arctic Command (Greenland) from 1956-1957. Upon his discharge, he returned to the University of Texas, Austin, where he earned his Ph.D. in Finance, graduating in 1965. James and Jeralyn E. Jackson were married in 1960 in Winston-Salem, NC. They moved to Stillwater in 1965 when James joined the faculty in the College of Business at Oklahoma State University, serving as a professor of finance. He taught both undergraduate and graduate courses before retiring in 1998. James is survived by his wife, Jerry, two sons, James Stuart Jackson (Houston, TX) and Edward Marsh Jackson (Long Beach, CA, as well as four grandchildren, Emily Ann Jackson (Corvallis, OR), Maria Elizabeth Jackson (Long Beach, CA), Rebecca Ann Jackson (Houston, TX), and James Stuart Jackson, Jr., Houston, TX. He is also survived by three siblings, William D. Jackson (Bourne, TX), Viginia A. Kastel (Santa Fe, NM) and Marsha F. Jackson (Santa Fe, NM). He was preceded in death by his daughter, Anne Elizabeth Jackson and sister Mary Isabel Wymer.
