Mary Williams

Mary Williams was born at Penllwynau Farm in Natgaredig, Carmarthen, Wales on March 19, 1926, to Thomas and Annie Harries, and passed away in Stillwater, OK, on December 5, 2018. Mary and Eric Williams were married on September 4, 1947. To this union, three children were born. Mary and Eric emigrated to the US in October 1961 when her husband accepted a position in the College of Veterinary Medicine at Oklahoma State University. Mary was very active in the First Presbyterian Church, serving as a deacon and sang in the choir for more than 40 years. Mary was also one of the original four drivers for Mobile Meals and was the coordinator of the baby cap program at Stillwater Medical Center, knitting thousands of baby caps. In addition, she was a tireless worker at the Stillwater Medical Center Gift Shop. Mary was honored in 2000 as the volunteer auxiliary member of the year; and in 2016, she was named the SMC Volunteer of the Year. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Eric, her parents, her twin sister, Betsi, as well as by three other sisters, three brothers, and her son-in-law, Perry Phillips. She is survived by her three children: Thomas (Emiy), Michael (Kathy), and Betsi. She is survived by five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
