Browning, Magda

Magda Browning, 92, was born in Straubing, Germany, and passed away on April 21, 2021, in Jacksonville, FL. She arrived in New York City in 1951.  She and Charles Browning, met at Kansas State University and married in 1956.  Their first two children were born when her husband was working on a master's degree and a doctorate at KSU.  Following graduation, they moved to Mississippi State University when her husband joined the teaching staff, and three more children were born to the couple.  In 1966, they moved to the University of Florida in Gainsville where Charles became chair of dairy science and later dean for Resident Instruction.  One more child was born to the couple when they lived in Gainsville.  In 1979, the Browning family moved to Stillwater when Charles was named Dean of Agriculture at Oklahoma State University, a position he held until 1996 when he retired.  During this time, Magda was active in campus women's groups, charity organizations, and her church.  Magda is preceded in death by her husband, Charles.
