Kenneth D. Sandvold

Kenneth D. Sandvold, 91, passed away in Stillwater, OK, on April 26, 2020.  He was born to Kenneth and Esther (Lien) Sandvold in Ada, MN on May 26, 1928.  After graduating from Twin Valley High School in 1946, and he attended Concordia College where he received a bachelor’ degree in 1952.  In 1954, he received his master’s degree from the University of North Dakota and subsequently received the Ph.D. from the University of Illinois in 1962.  From 1946 to 1948, and again in 1951, he served in the U.S. Army in Japan.  Kenneth and Gloria Reardon were married on July 7, 1951.  Kenneth was a staff psychologist at the North Dakota State Hospital and interned at the VA hospital in Danville, IL.  From 1965-1990, he taught in the doctoral programs in clinical psychology at Oklahoma State University.  For many years, he was an active volunteer in Stillwater, especially with the Judith Karmen Hospice and was a 50-year participant at Salem Lutheran Church.  Kenneth is survived by his children, Marie Due and Neil Sandvold as well as his son-in-law, Ron Due; sister, Marilyn Hartman, sister-in-law Darlene Sandvold. as well as many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by brothers Gerald Sandvold, Clebounrne Sandvold, and son-in-law, Mark Robinson.
